Goals of Sunshine Day Caregivers

Our goal at the center is to help children develop self-control and to learn appropriate social behaviors.  We encourage children to have self-respect and respect for others.  By encouraging and role modeling, we can help the children to develop self-control and respect for the needs of other people.

An integral part of a caregiver’s role at the center is to guide children’s behavior throughout the day.

We do not have a policy for infants apart from staff modeling appropriate behavior, re-directing the children, providing choices, intervening at the right moment, comforting the child who needs comfort, avoiding stressful situations and relieving un wanted stress by providing age-appropriate activities that help the children cop with stress by not feeling overwhelmed.
